Expanding the composition does not require a new palette. In this module, learners create additional sections from existing motifs, phrases, and textures.

Methods include:

  • moving a phrase to another layer;

  • arranging familiar elements in a new order;
  • using another density level.

The practical task creates two additional sections without introducing new sound material.

Module 18. Preparing the Final Return

The final return of the central idea should reflect the development that has already taken place. An exact copy of the opening section may not fit the closing stage.

Learners create three versions:

  • reduced return;
  • extended return;
  • return with a revised function.

The selected form preserves familiar material while matching the closing stage of the composition.

Module 19. Nexus Series Final Assignment

The final assignment is an extended composition with ten or more sections grouped into several large blocks. The work is based on a central map, a motif system, and structured revision.

The composition contains:

  • one central rhythmic system;
  • one main musical direction;
  • several connected motifs;
  • four or more large blocks;
  • several density levels;
  • an organized palette;
  • controlled changes in depth;
  • a system of short and large transitions;
  • a contrasting part;
  • a reduced section;
  • expansion through familiar material;
  • a prepared final return;
  • an ending connected to the opening map.

The first stage creates the central map and foundation system. Learners then prepare an initial version of the form, rhythm, and motifs.

The second stage adds palette, space, and transitions. Every section then receives an individual review, and the larger blocks are analyzed by development direction.

The third stage uses version-based revision. Learners separately review structure, density, palette, space, and transitions.

The fourth stage creates a reduced version. Selected details return only where they perform a defined role.
